Etosha National Park Etosha is
Namibia’s premier game reserve where the game viewing is truly
fantastic. A haven for 93 mammal species and 340 bird species, the
park’s focal point is the Etosha Pan which is believed to have
originated 12 million years ago. Briefly during each year, the Etosha
Pan holds enough water to attract flocks of flamingos and pelicans
during the summer. Etosha is also acknowledged as one of the last wild
sanctuaries for the critically endangered Black Rhino.
Fly Drives Namibia has a well
established road network and coupled with cheap car hire, this makes
Fly-Drive an excellent way to explore the country. Drivers must carry
either an International Drivers Permit OR a valid, unendorsed Driver’s
licence. They must also be at least 21 years old and have held a licence
for at least 3 years.
Deserts and Canyons The dramatic
landscape of the Kalahari and Namib deserts and the Naukluft National
Park in Southern Namibia are home to some of the rarest and most unusual
plant and animal species in the world. The hauntingly beautiful Skeleton
Coast National Park stretches for 500km down the country. Scenic flights
and flying safaris reveal remote and ghostly shipwrecks, dunes, canyons
and mountains. In the north, you may find the rare desert elephants in
Damaraland but if not, you will still see the enormous Messum crater and
Twyfelfontein, home to thousands of prehistoric San rock carvings.
